"We believe that Mollie is still alive, and if someone has abducted her, we are pleading with you to please release her", said Tibbetts' mother, Laura Calderwood. She called Tibbetts an "incredibly strong woman".
"We're not in the position say who is a suspect, who isn't a suspect or if there are any suspects", Winker told reporters at a press conference in Montezuma.
The clothing item was reportedly found by a person mowing the lawn near the Lincoln Wildlife Reserve, which is in the same area as a pig farm searched by FBI investigators last week for almost two hours.
Crime Stoppers of Central Iowa on Thursday said that the Bring Mollie Tibbetts Home Safe Reward Fund for information leading to her safe return reached $172,000 as of August 2, according to the Register.
Crime Stoppers of Central Iowa tells Channel 13 the reward fund to help find Mollie has grown to more than $200,000.
"It is our greatest hope that if someone has her that they would just release her and claim that money that we have raised for her freedom", Calderwood said Thursday at a news conference.
"Doing what we can in the moment to get her safe first", he said on "GMA" Friday morning. Anonymous tips and donations can also be made at www.crimestoppersofcentraliowa.com.
Tibbetts was last seen jogging two weeks ago in Brooklyn, where she was staying at her boyfriend's house to look after his dogs while he was out of town.
"If you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear", Rob Tibbetts said. "They've put together a very sophisticated investigation", he said of the police.
The fund provides financial incentive to anyone who is reluctant to come forward, said Tibbetts' father, Rob Tibbetts. Investigators have reached no conclusions about why she has disappeared.
Investigators have been looking at various data, including social media and information from a Fitbit that Tibbetts is known to have used. She was last seen wearing dark-colored running shorts, a pink sports top and running shoes of an unknown color.
