Twitter reacts to Conor McGregor’s return against Khabib Nurmagomedov

Conor McGregor vs Khabib Nurmagomedov Announced For UFC 229

As well as what Dana White has dubbed the "biggest fight in UFC history" there are several other must-see bouts coming up on BT Sport in the coming months, including Darren Till's welterweight title fight on 8 September. He plays hard, but he trains even harder.

Plenty of fans and officials were delighted Friday when the UFC announced that Conor McGregor would fight Khabib Nurmagomedov for the lightweight belt in his long-awaited return during UFC 229. But to maintain his sporting dominance, he has to eat right.

Former two-weight world champion McGregor has wanted to face Nurmagomedov for some time.

Here's everything McGregor likes to have for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

"I'm not fighting on that show", Diaz tweeted moments after stepping off stage, adding an expletive directed toward the UFC.

Those include a September 8 pay-per-view card in Dallas headlined by the Tyron Woodley-Darren Till welterweight title fight and a December 29 card in Las Vegas likely to feature a fight between women's champions Cris Cyborg and Amanda Nunes, although negotiations continue. Going into the festivities, the assumption was that the sole focus would be on the return of Nate Diaz to the Octagon after over two years away, as he's set to take on Dustin Poirier in the UFC 230 co-main event in Madison Square Garden on November 3.

Since then, McGregor's return to the UFC has been teased but the two sides couldn't come to an agreement. If there was any doubt that he would return to the UFC, that doubt is now gone.

This is going to be one hell of a fight! "It's good to have Nate back".

The Russian fighter's father and lifelong coach, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, says he hopes nothing similar to the incident in Brooklyn unfolds in the build-up to the fight at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on October 6. In the interim, Khabib Nurmagomedov has taken the lightweight division by storm.
