Galaxy's Ibrahimovic scores 500th career goal

Former Manchester United striker Ibrahimovic reached the milestone in LA Galaxy's 5-3 defeat at defending champions Toronto on Saturday.

LA Galary forward and Swedish superstar Zlatan Ibrahimović just scored his 500th career goal in very fitting fashion.

Toronto had jumped out to a 3-0 first-half lead at BMO Field before Ibrahimovic's goal fueled a furious Galaxy rally that saw a tie game by the 58th minute.

The maverick Swede has scored all sorts of goals.

The 36-year-old Swede joined Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo as the only active players with 500 goals in club and global play, cutting Toronto's lead to 3-1 in the 43rd minute.

"I don't know how many have scored 500 goals in their career, but I am one of them and it would feel nicer if we win the game but still, I did it so there is nothing I will hide from".

The World Cup victor attempted and failed to imitate Zlatan's acrobatic prowess before saying, "I tell you to play football and you watch too much Jackie Chan, Jet Li and Bruce Lee".

The 36-year-old also has 62 goals for Sweden. It reminds me of a goal I did in Ajax.

Speaking after the clash, he said: "I was close to the goal".

"Obviously, it's not good to lose. but I'm happy for Toronto because they'll be remembered as my 500th victim", Ibrahimović told The Sports Network (via ESPN).

"It came from a cross and I turned around and hit it".
