Will change my mind if accusations are credible: Trump on Kavanaugh

Trump Open To Having Both Brett Kavanaugh Accusers Testify: White House

Washington is due for an explosive Thursday as Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh and Christine Blasey Ford are set to testify on Capitol Hill and as President Donald Trump considers the fate of the person overseeing the Russian Federation investigation.

"They could have pushed it through two weeks ago and we wouldn't be talking about this right now, which is what I would have preferred", Trump said, describing Kavanaugh as a "gem" who had been unfairly maligned.

Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley has pledged to look into Ramirez's allegation, but not delay the Thursday hearing as ranking member Dianne Feinstein has requested.

In a prepared written testimony shared by the committee on Wednesday, Kavanaugh repeated his denial of the allegations against him, accusing those who have come forward with accusations of "obvious character assassination". He also accused the Democratic Party of facilitating the charges against Kavanaugh calling it a "big con job".

If I wasn't elected, you would have had a war. So when I see it, I view it differently than somebody sitting home watching television where they say oh, Judge Kavanaugh this or that. I've been a famous person for a long time.

While Trump has derided the #MeToo movement that has targeted a number of prominent men, the president also acknowledged that Thursday's hearing could be another touchstone for the nation.

The second part of Fallon's genius plan comes in November: "If Democrats are able to win back the Senate, we'd have a path to blocking Trump from picking any of the archconservatives on his short list".

Kavanaugh vehemently denies the accusations, vowing to fight what he has denounced as "smears, pure and simple".

Trump later talked about the "failing" New York Times, but said he would take a question from a Times reporter "in honor of a paper I once loved". "And they go into a room and I guarantee you, they laugh like hell at what they've pulled off on [the media] and on the public".

Numerous people we spoke to believe both sides were credible and say the truth may never be determined. He said there have been "a lot of false charges" against him.

Here are his own words: "It's happened to me many times".

Mr Trump said he had rejected a one-on-one meeting with Justin Trudeau, the Canadian prime minister, while they were in NY. Trump made the decision to hold a news conference on the eve of the hearing, making it the fourth he has held as president. "You know why? Because I've had a lot of false charges made against me".

"[Democrats] are actually con artists because they know how quality this man is and they've destroyed his reputation", Trump told reporters at the U.N. General Assembly in NY.

"They weren't laughing at me", he said. Create more jobs. So I'm anxious about the fact that they seem to like raising interest rates.

"I can't tell you whether or not they're liars until I hear them", Trump said of the now three accusers who contend Kavanaugh either sexually assaulted them or stood by as others did so.

Donald Trump attacked China and Canada, praised North Korea and defended his embattled Supreme Court nominee during a rare news conference in NY.

Rosenstein oversees the Russian Federation investigation swirling around Trump, and his firing could spark claims of obstruction of justice.

Trump insisted he was never ridiculed by leaders on the world stage, dismissing reports that he was laughed at during his address to the U.N. General Assembly as "fake news".
