Kavanaugh Was Questioned by Police After a 1985 Bar Fight, Report Shows

WASHINGTON DC- SEPTEMBER 27 Judge Brett Kavanaugh testifies to the Senate Judiciary Committee during his Supreme Court confirmation hearing in the Dirksen Senate Office Building on Capitol Hill

A new report by The New York Times reveals that police questioned Brett Kavanaugh about a bar fight in 1985.

After Kavanaugh and former Portland Trail Blazers standout center Dudley reportedly injured the man, he was interviewed by police and refused to say what he had done.

Mr Cozzolino said he then got hit on the ear with a glass.

A former Yale classmate of Kavanaugh's, who told The New Yorker he is "100% certain" he heard about an incident in which Kavanaugh thrust his penis into Ramirez's face during their freshman year of college, was also essentially ignored when he asked to provide his account to the Federal Bureau of Investigation in recent days. According to the report, Cozzolino's ear was bleeding, but Dudley denied throwing the glass. It's not known whether Dudley was ever charged with a crime.

The 1985 bar fight incident first surfaced in one such statement from Chad Ludington, a classmate of Kavanaugh's at Yale. "It has been from the beginning, and we're letting the Senate continue to dictate what the terms look like", Sanders said. "I drank beer with my friends".

Republicans later called the White House to discuss the scope of the probe, the person said. "But I did not drink beer to the point of blacking out", he said during his testimony.

His attorney, Barbara "Biz" Van Gelder, wouldn't say Tuesday when the interview concluded or what Judge was asked.

Classmates who remember Kavanaugh being a heavy drinker have also come forward just as the FBI has reopened its background investigation into the judge.

Kavanaugh has denied all the allegations.

Two other people who Ms Ford said attended the same party have also been interviewed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. If he lied about his past actions on national television, and more especially while speaking under oath in front of the United States Senate, I believe those lies should have consequences. Kavanaugh was nominated by President Donald Trump to fill the vacancy on the court left by retiring Associate Justice Anthony Kennedy. Mr. Kavanaugh was not arrested, but the police report stated that a 21-year-old man accused Mr. Kavanaugh of throwing ice on him "for some unknown reason". He accused Democrats of politicising the process and harming his family and good name. But he says anew that the Senate will vote on Kavanaugh this week.

Ramirez was the second woman to accuse Kavanaugh of sexual misconduct, saying he exposed himself at a gathering when they were both in college and thrust his penis in her face.

However, more Americans believed the allegations from Christine Blasey Ford than the number of Americans who believed the denials from Kavanaugh.

"As a Supreme Court justice, he would be the last line of legal defense for people who need a champion with unimpeachable judgment", Roche said.
