New Orleans Saints’ Drew Brees Becomes NFL’s All-Time Yards Passing Leader

Photos: This NFL Cheerleader Is Going Viral Today

Monday wasn't a great night for the Washington Redskins, who lost to the New Orleans Saints 43-19 in an absolute blowout.

The Redskins opted to use third-down back Chris Thompson and Kapri Bibbs in Peterson's role as the first- and second-down back.

Peterson carried four times for six yards and caught two passes for 36 yards.

Peterson said he injured his shoulder late in the first half, and he played only two snaps in the second half.

This could be bad news for Peterson, who has looked nearly like his old self since signing with the Redskins. That's not absolute peak Peterson, but considering that he's 33, that's more than simply "good". However, starting left guard Shaun Lauvao will miss the game with a calf injury - though how badly his impact will be felt remains to be seen, as some fans put blames for offensive miscues on Lauvao's shoulders.

Brees hugged coach Sean Payton and his family on the sidelines, handed the football used on the play to a representative of the American Football Hall of Fame and then went back into the game for a two-point conversion attempt that failed. It was just a situation where it was sore.

"I just popped it back in, braced it up at halftime and got back in there", Peterson said. Regardless of what Tuesday's MRI reveals, it wasn't the sort of homecoming Peterson anticipated.

The Saints' Week 5 match-up against the Redskins was scheduled in primetime for a reason, and Drew Brees is just 201 yards away from Peyton Manning's passing yardage record.
