Corbyn welcomes back 10 MPs in Labour reshuffle

Purnima Tanuku, chief executive of National Day Nurseries Association said: "We are delighted to welcome the new shadow early years minister".

Following the victory, Mr Corbyn used his party conference speech to urge Labour MPs and activists to "come together again".

The former Labour leader said there had been a change of attitude among MPs about Mr Corbyn following his re-election, despite the resignation of two whips following the sacking of their boss, Dame Rosie Winterton.

More than a quarter of the 63 MPs who quit have now returned to frontbench roles, either in the shadow cabinet or more junior positions.

Mr McGinn stepped down as did fellow whip Holly Lynch over the removal of Ms Winterton, which provoked an angry backlash.

Mr Balls said Mr Corbyn's controversial reshuffle appointment of Nick Brown as chief whip was a good move.

When he was handed the roles Mr Flynn said he did not expect the appointments to be a permanent arrangement, saying: "It looks like it'll be for a few weeks".

She said: "We will be continuing to build on that work and challenge the Government which has been using austerity as an excuse to attack services people rely on, to attack our most vulnerable people".

Her replacement, Angela Rayner, has survived the latest reshuffle having emerged as one of the shadow cabinet's strongest performers.

Ms Siddiq, elected to the House of Commons for the first time last May, had supported Owen Smith this summer, but later said that the party needed to come together behind Mr Corbyn after he won almost 62 percent of a ballot of members. We do need to resolve them as soon as possible.

"I respect colleagues who want to make their voice heard from different places, whether it's the backbench, the mid bench, through select committees, or on the front bench", Starmer told BBC One's Andrew Marr show yesterday. Theresa May's party saw its support rise 2 percentage points to 43 percent, while Labour's Jeremy Corbyn presided over a 2-point drop to 26 percent. I think it's time to take the power out of the hands of the elite and hand it back to the people of this country.

Meanwhile, it was revealed that the pro-Corbyn Momentum organisation now has more than 20,000 members.
