Rivers, Chargers, ease some pain by beating Broncos 21-13

Denver's first score came after a punt bounced off San Diego's Travis Benjamin and the Broncos recovered at the San Diego 11.

And in the fourth quarter, some hyper conservative play-calling saw the Chargers fail to pick up a single first down, leaving Denver with a chance to drive down the field and get a touchdown.

Yet that lead never felt safe, and somehow San Diego managed to let most of its advantage slip away.

Running down the significant stats and notable numbers following the Denver Broncos' 21-13 loss to the Chargers in San Diego on Thursday night. It's sickening. I hate to lose, man. "I care. This is my job". Or will they find a way to beat one of the best teams in the NFL?

"We're not over it yet". "It wasn't talked about a lot on the team but veteran players". This was nothing compared to the 3 additional field goals and a safety the Chargers put up after before the Broncos ever had even an opportunity to score again. Still, Rivers said this is how good teams win - they make the plays that need to be made at the end of the game. "It was a mindset for us to go out there and finish, and everyone knew we were going to finish this game", Liuget said. "We made it more exciting than it needed to be at the end". Von Miller, who has sacked Rivers more times than he has sacked any other quarterback, was limited to one.

"It's just frustrating when you get three turnovers on special teams and you don't win the game", DeCamillis said.

Now, back to the game, the Broncos defense did just about everything they could to hold the Chargers but with field position against their favor it was hard all night. By the time Denver got the ball back, there was only three minutes left in the game.

"We're sitting here 3-2 right now, we're going, 'Hey, we win this game over Denver, we're tied for the top nearly, '" Rivers said. "We can't get too up or too down, and based on my experience I think that happens to us a little bit".

As well as Henry, the Chargers won the game partially thanks to a late sack and forced fumble by fifth-round rookie linebacker Jatavis Brown.

Music blared louder than normal in the San Diego Chargers' locker room, and there was a sense of relief Thursday night after a victory over the Denver Broncos. His numbers improved, but it wasn't a pretty performance and the Broncos only hung around because their defence limited San Diego's attack.
