Following a hugely successful debut last year, Bennetts, the UK’s No. 1 bike insurance specialist, has re-launched its Bennetts Biker Dreams campaign for 2011. The campaign to fulfil £80,000 of biker dreams was originally introduced last year to celebrate the bike insurer’s 80th anniversary, but will now become an ongoing campaign.
Almost 5,000 biking-related dreams were entered online last year and the final fulfilment has recently been completed, with the return of Pete Johnson from Manchester following his all expenses-paid trip to visit every town named Manchester in America and Canada. He was one of 15 dream entries to be fulfilled, ranging from new biking kit and track days to trips to America, Italy, France and Africa.
And in order to maintain momentum and keep the wheels turning, the fulfilment of 2011 dreams has already begun after opening up entries to visitors to this year’s Thundersprint event and the British round of the MotoGP championship at Silverstone.
Graham Faulkner, who entered his dream at the Thundersprint, became the first dream fulfilment for the 2011 campaign; he was a VIP guest at the Isle of Man TT races last month meeting James Toseland, Roger Burnett and John McGuinness as well as completing a lap of the famous Island circuit in one of the course inspection cars driven by former TT winner Richard ‘Milky’ Quayle.
At least one new dream each month will be chosen for fulfilment by a panel of judges based on the passion for biking demonstrated by the dream and entrant.
So aspiring bikers, existing bikers and those who are coming back to biking should get their entries uploaded to the website. They do not even need to be Bennetts customers to enter. An alternative entry route is to visit the Bennetts promotional stand at one of the Bennetts:Live events. Details of all dreams that have been fulfilled are available at the Bennetts Biker Dreams website.
“As a specialist insurer, biking is at the heart of everything we do,” says Bennetts Communications Manager, Michael Mann. “What better way to understand our customers and the UK biking community than by inviting them to tell us their ultimate biking dream. At the same time it’s a great opportunity to give something back to UK bikers.
“We had some fantastic entries last year and we’re looking forward to seeing some more exciting and interesting ambitions this time around. As a biker myself, I understand that we always have dreams that we can never find the time or money to achieve so it feels fantastic to be able to make these dreams come true for some lucky UK bikers.”
