Bimota has unveiled a new ‘superlight’ version of their 2-valve, Ducati powered model which they’ve dubbed the Bimota DB6 Superlight.
The motorcycle has an upper trellis of carbon fiber bolted to the aluminium alloy side plates. The swingarm is a mix of a carbon lattice supported with an aluminium backplate.
The DB6 Superlight weighs in at just 158kg, and uses the older 1100cc Desmodue engine. If Bimota changed to using the newer engine, used on the Ducati Hypermotard models, weight could be reduced even further.
