Dainese will be present at EICMA for the 69th International Motorcycle Show, with a world preview of some of its most innovative projects. Dainese will be attending with helmet company AGV under the banner of Italian Legendary Protection; a name that brings together two iconic brands and emphasises the excellence of ‘Made in Italy’.
At EICMA last year Dainese unveiled the D-air Racing system to the Milan crowds. This year the road-going version of the air bag system D-air Street, will be showcased. D-air is a technological platform designed and built to protect riders on the racetrack and on the road. The system detects a fall, slide or hazard and a signal is sent to inflate airbags around the rider’s body. With over ten-years of development, research and testing, D-air is not just an airbag suit, but also a highly evolved technical device.
Defined in men’s lifestyle magazine GQ, as ‘the greatest discovery in protection after the crash helmet’. D-air Racing has already won two international awards: the GQ Car Awards for ‘Best Safety Measure’ and the ‘Clothing Product of the Year’, in Motorcycle News’s recent industry awards.
In 2012 D-air will be available in the Street version, which has been designed specifically for day-to-day use on the road. The presentation of D-air Street will be alongside the new version of AGV Standards, the innovative new method of crash helmet design. With an accurate skull scanning system that enables the design of the helmet to be fully fitted round the rider’s head, to increase safety and comfort.
On Tuesday 8 November at 1500hrs, Dainese and AGV will host a press conference presenting these two projects on the Dainese/AGV stand. Dainese will activate the D-air Street for the first time in front of the media.
