The latest mini film in Honda’s Channel 4 documentary campaign features Honda two-wheels and the well know community ‘Blood Bikers’, specifically one volunteer, Roger, with the SERV (Service by Emergency Rider Volunteers) charity who deliver vital blood supplies to hospitals.

This mini-documentary is the third in a series of short feature films which explore and celebrate real-life people who use their Honda motorbikes, cars, ATVs, lawn mowers, generators and marine engines in unusual and extraordinary ways. The first featured Philippa, an alpaca breeder in Oxfordshire, who tends to the animals on her farm using her trusty Honda ATV.

The second starred Ben, a night fisherman from Brixham Harbour in Devon who takes his boat, powered by two Honda BF135 marine engines, out at night to catch fish in the dark.

This latest short film features a gentleman called Roger who volunteers for SERV with his trusty ST1300 Pan European motorcycle. Roger voluntarily dedicates his evenings to transporting blood from central blood banks to hospitals across his local area in the home counties on his beloved Pan-European. He has ridden Hondas since he was 16 years old and he now relies on his Pan-European to regularly ride 100 mile journeys in the middle of the night.

Honda’s Blood Bikers Channel 4 Documentary ‘idents’ premiere on Tuesday 27 September, supporting the popular documentary ’Seven Dwarves’ series. Viewers will be introduced to Roger and his reliable Honda ST1300 in the ‘bumpers’ which sit between the documentary and the advert breaks, while the full two minute version of the film will be available to view on Honda’s website (link below).

In addition to the full length film, visitors to the website will be able to follow the nightly journey of a Blood Biker, from setting off at home to collect the blood, to arriving at the hospital. Visitors will be able to find out what steps are taken to get the critical blood to its destination safely, plus advice and top tips on how to keep safe while riding a motorcycle at night along with ways in which they could support SERV and Blood Bikers generally.

Search for the next new documentary star continues…..

Throughout the campaign, which began in May 2011, Honda has been inviting consumers to ‘take part’ and possibly star in one of Honda’s next short films on Channel 4, by sharing stories and photographs about the weird and wonderful ways they use their Honda products. It could be using a Honda generator to power sheep scanners or transforming a Civic into an ice cream van.

Whatever the story, if it’s unexpected and just a little bit different, Honda would like to hear it.

Simply upload your photo and/or video with a brief description of what you and your Honda get up to and the person to be judged as using their Honda in the most extraordinary way will have their story turned into a film online and broadcast on Channel 4 and More 4 as part of Honda’s documentary sponsorship.

Budding stars can tell their story and enter the competition online where a regular gallery of entries will be posted to inspire other entrants, but be quick as the competition closes on 5 October 2011.
