We’re used to featuring all manner of motorcycles in our Concept section and we’ve featured a few bits of gear but nothing quite so thought out as this.
Kyle, from Hershey, Pennsylvania, has created this, which is quite possibly the most technologically advanced helmet you could ever stick on your bonce!
We won’t tell you everything as it’s all available in the pictures below, however some key points include:
- The helmet can be linked with a smart phone and make emergency calls in the case of an accident
- The helmet may also have been recording, a useful video when it comes to assigning blame
- Helmet charges via a mini USB port at the back
- Customisable rear light that can be linked to the motorcycle’s brake light
- Augemented reality displayed in the helmet as you ride along, picking out friends in the area, points of interest etc
- GPS and navigation also using the visor as the display
It makes sense that this is the way to go. Whilst motorcycle technology is coming on in leaps and bounds, besides saftey improvements, the helmet has remained fairly static.
We’d certainly be interested in testing this if it ever gets made, though we suspect a more universal one, rather then manufacturer specific would be better.
