Loris Capirossi started an incredible 328 races over his 22 year Grand Prix career, winning three titles and grabbing 99 podiums.
Now, Dorna, are calling upon those years of experience to act in an advisory role for the World Championship.
Dorna are saying the Italian’s insight will prove invaluable as the 1,000cc machines come back in 2012, CRT rules and the new Moto3 250cc machines as well.
Capirossi will advise on matters of safety, regulations, the competition in general and any new tracks that come into being, Dorna have also requested that Capirossi’s number 65 be retired from the MotoGP World Championship in recognition of his career.
