Rain continued to play havoc with the schedule for the Macau Motorcycle Grand Prix. Overnight rain left the track soaking at 7:15 this morning, making the running of the delayed qualifying session impossible.
After lengthy consideration and as the rain stayed away this morning, a source close to Race Control revealed that qualifying would start at 3:30pm, the time originally planned for the race. That means that the race will be pushed into Sunday, Though no time has yet been set. Because it is necessary to install and remove additional safety barriers for the bikes for each session, it is possible the race will be run at the end of tomorrow afternoon.
With no further rain forecast for the weekend, the frustrated bike teams are hoping that they can get out and finish the job they travelled to the Chinese gambling capital to do.
Organisers have announced that the Macau Motorcycle GP is scheduled to run at 1:45pm tomorrow (Sunday). There will be a 30 minute warm-up from 7:30am and qualifying will take place at 3:30pm this afternoon.
