With Captain America: The First Avenger in UK cinemas building huge anticipation for Marvel’s 2012 release of the Avengers, Shaw Harley-Davidson has produced a stunning Captain America motorcycle to commemorate the release of the film.
And there is a special seven-minute behind-the-scenes video, which captures the transformation of the 2009 Fat Boy® motorcycle…
The world championship winning team in the Shaw Speed and Custom wing of the business, which is renowned for its custom bike designs, has spent more than 100 hours creating the motorcycle.
The machine was one of the star attractions at the Customising, Culture & Harley-Davidson exhibit at the Museum of Science & Industry (MOSI) in Manchester recently, and can now be found in the dealership’s Sussex showroom.
Shaw has been an authorised Harley-Davidson UK dealer for nine years and opened the Shaw Speed and Custom shop in November 2009. Winning the London Custom Show in 2010 gave the dealership a ticket to Sturgis to claim victory in the world championships.
A variety of their custom bikes are still on show at the MOSI exhibition alongside some spectacular early Harley-Davidson motorcycles, including an authentic Warr’s Harley-Davidson army motorcycle, which is similar to the customised Softail Cross Bones that is featured in the Captain America film. The show runs until 11 September 2011.
Tickets to the Customising, Culture & Harley-Davidson exhibit at MOSI can be purchased from the Information Desk in the Great Western Warehouse, at Ticketmaster or by calling 0844 847 2261.
