Michele Pirro & Yuki Takahashi To Ride With Gresini

Fausto Gresini is pleased to announced that the two riders who will ride the Team Gresini Moriwaki MD600 machines in 2011 will be Michele Pirro and Yuki Takahashi. Agreements with both riders have been confirmed over the past few hours and both riders will be able to begin testing at Valencia tomorrow. The one-day session will be a shakedown for the pair before the testing schedule intensifies ahead of an exciting 2011 season.

Michele Pirro was born in S.Giovanni Rotondo (Italia) on the 5th July 1986, He made his debut in the 125cc World Championship in 2003 and won the Italian Superstock title in 2007 and 2008. In 2009 he moved to the World Supersport series, finishing fifth overall in 2010.

Yuki Takahashi was born in Saitama (Japan) on the 12th July 1984. He made his World Championship debut in 2001 in the 125 class before becoming a full time 250 rider in 2005. In 2006 he finished sixth overall with two victories to his name. In 2008, still in the 250cc class, he scored three podiums to finish fifth overall whilst in 2009 he stepped up to MotoGP for seven races. In 2010 he finished 12th overall in the inaugural season of Moto2.
