During today’s Metzeler National Superstock 1000 Championship race at Brands Hatch riders fell like they were riding on ice.
On the opening lap both Richard Cooper and Marshall Neill fell at Dingle Dell in totally seperate incidents but within seconds of each other, Cooper lucky not to get taken out by Neill’s bike.
The safety car was deployed but as the riders came to the end of the lap, John Crockford collided with the unlucky rider in front of him, Freddy Pett, with both bikes completely destroyed.
John Crockford sustained multiple injuries, he was treated in the circuit medical centre and flown by Air Ambulance to Royal London Hospital. Marshal Neill was unconscious for a couple of minutes and whilst he regained consciousness trackside he has been flown by the BSB Medical helicopter to Kings College Hospital, London for further scans. Richard Cooper was unhurt and Freddy Pett sustained minor injuries.
