It turns out the answer to this often asked question is now a firm NO.
Paris Hilton, yes THE Paris Hilton, is to launch her own 2011 MotoGP Team…Let’s just repeat that, Paris Hilton, is going to launch a MotoGP Team.
Called SuperMartxe VIP by Paris Hilton, the team will compete in the 125cc class in 2011.
The team has some promising riders with Sergio Gadea and Maverick Vinales, the 2010 Spanish and European 125cc GP champions.
The first press conference for the team is to be on December 18th at the ME Hotel in Madrid, this happens to be quite a chic hotel with George Clooney amongst visitors.
For the launch Paris Hilton will be accompanied by Xavi Montero, Ricard Garriga and Ricard Jove, the technical director for the 125cc GP team.
The technical team backing up the team is pretty outstanding with Christian Lundberg and Rossano Brazzi, the latter known best for helping one Valentino Rossi to glory in his 125 days.
Whilst this will no doubt be a big boost to the motorcycle racing world and MotoGP, particularly if Hilton should turn up at races and all the press that will no doubt follow, it does scream of PR and you wonder if, other then name, Ms Hilton is actually adding anything?
