Peugeot Scooters are taking the first of many leaps into the Chinese market by opening the first of its 145 Chinese dealerships on 21st December in Nanjing, Jiangsu province.

The leading French scooter manufacturer, and the world’s oldest manufacturer of motorised two-wheeled vehicles, already has over 5,000 points of sale in Europe selling more than 20 ranges available in nine engines sizes ranging from 50 to 500cm3.

2011 will see Peugeot release the e-Vivacity, an electric scooter Peugeot are hoping will put them on the road to being the leader in green mobility in Europe. Peugeot will also release a three-wheeled scooter which they claim will be a highend vehicle.

Initially Peugeot enter the Chinese market with five models:

  1. Kisbee 80
  2. Vocus 110
  3. Vivacity 125
  4. Tourace 150
  5. Satelis 500

These scooters will be distributed in nine provinces via a network of 145 points of sale and nine flagship stores, which are fully fledged “image-enhancers” tasked with conveying the Marque’s values and flying its colours. The first, in Nanjing in the province of Shanghai, will be opened by Pierre-Louis Colin, Managing Director of Peugeot Scooters, on 21 December.
