Police Capture Speeding Biker, Minus The Bike

Boris Maier

No this would really be rubbing salt into the wound!

A motorcyclist in Switzerland has been caught speeding by police…even though he wasn’t actually on his bike at the time.

Boris Maier, 38, from Bern was caught doing 107kph in an 80kph zone, his bike on the other hand, wasn’t caught speeding, as it was further up the road spraying sparks like a firework.

The speed camera is thought to have zoned in on Mr Maier rather than his bike but also managed to capture the image (left) and his licence plate.

Police believe Maier was doing a considerable speed before he eventually spotted the camera and slammed on the breaks, losing control.

A police spokesman said, “It appears that he suddenly saw the traffic control measure ahead and lost control as he tried to slow down.”

Maier managed to walk away from the scene with just scratches and bruises. The police spokesman said he was lucky not to be killed.

Had Maier been travelling a further 3kph at the time, he would have lost his licence, as it is he now faces a fine.
