Again, spot the bike
Karel Abraham, the first Czech rider in the premier class, entered MotoGP with lots of lights, scantily clad women and an ice sculpture…in that order!
Abraham will ride a Ducati Desmosedici GP11 for the Cadion ab Motoracing team who say they are now ready for the first test which will be held at the Sepang circuit in February.
Before we proceed, we think we owe it to those who don’t know, to point out that Karel Abraham’s father, also called Karel, is a very rich businessman, and owns the Cardion medical supplies company (main sponsors), as well as the Brno circuit.
“After the second test we could have the first indications of how much we will be successfull this year,” estimated Karel Abraham. “The bike is much more difficult to control and requires perfect physical fitness,” said Abraham after his first experience with the new bike.
Cadion have brought in some additional brain power for the move to MotoGP as track engineer Cristhian Pupulin, telemetry analyst Dario Massarin and spare parts technician Michele Bubbolini.
“We are very satisfied with the cooperation with Ducati,” said team manager Karel Abraham Senior, yes related.
The rest of the team will be Marco Grana, Martin Havlicek, Martin Nesvadba, Yannis Maigret, and Pietro Berti who were in the team previously, remain.
“All of them are professionals. They are working very well and together they create a great team,” added Abraham Sr.
Karel has already done some testing where he was 3.064 seconds slower then Jorge Lorenzo and on the second day he’d got that down to 1.727 seconds.
“Compared to the last year, rookies Bautista and Barbera were three seconds slower than the fastest riders. Karel lost only 1.7 seconds although Lorenzo was as fast as he was during the race weekend”, said Karel Senior
