The Italian based company Vyrus has laid claim to the most powerful production motorcycle in the world.
The Rimini-based company, best known for producing the Bimota Tesi 2D, is set to shoot to the front of the pack with its Vyrus 987 C3 4VV. The naked superbike has 211bhp from a supercharged 1098R Ducati engine but weighs a paltry 158kg.
This puts the bike ahead of the other contenders such as the MV Augusta F4 312RR, Suzuki Hyabusa, Ducati Desmosedici RR or Kawasaki’s ZZR1400.
The hub centre steered Vyrus will cost 65,000 Euros (around $91,700 US, £56,000 UK).
The Vyrus 4V is the latest of the four Vyrus bikes with the base model 984 C3 2V having a 100bhp Ducati engine that weighs just 150kg and costs 33,400 Euros (around $47,000, £29,000 UK).
The next motorcycle in their armoury is the 985 C3 4V which has 155bhp Ducati engine and weighs 157kg. The 985 costs 50,000 Euros (around $77,500 US, £43,000 UK).
The former top motorcycle in the Vyrus range was the 987 C3 4V which uses a 1098R Ducati engine to produce 184bhp and weighs 155kg. That costs 55,000 Euros (around $77,500 US, £48,000 UK).
But, should 184bhp at 155kg not be enough for you, you can now have the 987 C3 4VV which takes the 987 C3 4V, adds a 10,000 Euro, supercharger and 27bhp. Also, the title of fastest production motorcycle in the world.
Just to put some perspective on the weights of these bikes, Rossi’s 2009 winning Yamaha weighs 148kg.
