After 12 exciting regional rounds in North America, the UK and Europe, the TTXGP 2010 season finale in Albacete, Spain is upon us. The popular Spanish track will see the first ever TTXGP World Champion crowned this weekend as teams from around the globe join together to battle it out for the prestigious title.
14 nationalities, 12 races, 6 countries, over 1000 miles of track time at some of the most prestigious circuits in the world and it finally comes down to this weekend - an historic milestone in world motorcycling motorsport, the World’s first TTXGP Final/UEM 2010.
Running alongside the UEM 2010 finals, the action-filled TTXGP races are sure to continue right through to the final round and with so much at stake, teams and riders are sure to be pushing themselves and their machines to the limit to challenge for the top spot. After the strength of the CRP Racing machine and Alessandro Brannetti in the TTXGP EURO Championship, the Italian team have got to be one of the favourites, but with the return of Michael Weynand on the Campus Francorchamps bike, the second placed European team are sure to be gunning to prove a point. However, even in the couple of weeks build up to the race, teams have been fettling, developing and testing their bikes so performance is sure to be pushed to the maximum for the pinnacle event of the season.
Albacete is also the first race since Team Z broke cover and announced as the first factory racing team entry from China, Team Zongshen. Zongshen who will be racing in Albacete in preparation for next season when they will return with a brand new bike, developed in-house in their manufacturing plant in China.
Anglo-Indian team, Agni will be continuing their full season with the TTXGP UK Championship winning bike ridden by Jenny Tinmouth who are rumoured to have made some significant developments since Brands Hatch and as one of the most experienced packages on the grid are sure to be at the sharp end of the field. They are joined by the all-Indian Team Tork with local rider and 2009 TTXGP veteran, Antonio Maeso.
SMP Racing with young rider, Alexey Ivanov, from Russia are testing different machines and join the grid at Albacete on an eCRP 1.2 bike.
Werkstatt Racing from San Francisco, raced by Jennifer Bromme qualify from the TTXGP North American Championship to take part.
The Albacete track in the heart of Spain is the ideal setting for the inaugural TTXGP World Final/UEM, being a renowned favourite in the world of motorcycle racing, ever since it opened its doors in the early 90′s. The track has great characteristics and demands which will put all of the rider’s ability to the test.
This will be the ultimate final event and test for the teams and riders and is sure to end the season in style.
