Marvel's 'Iron Fist' To Hit Netflix In March 2017

Iron Fist showrunner Scott Buck and the cast are expected to be in attendance at New York Comic-Con this week, and with a release date set for roughly six months out, there's a good chance we'll be seeing / hearing more soon.

With Luke Cage now earning rave reviews from professional critics and general audiences alike, Netflix has announced when we can expect to see Iron Fist, its next live-action television series set in Marvel Studios' cinematic universe.

Netflix made its first foray into the world of Marvel with the 2015 series "Daredevil", which came out in the spring of that year, then followed with "Jessica Jones" in late 2015. That just leaves one series left: Iron Fist. "Engineers to the rescue", the Netflix US account joked after the issue was fixed.

The Iron Fist Plot: Billionaire Danny Rand (Finn Jones) returns to New York City after being missing for years, trying to reconnect with his past and his family legacy.

Given how long it took to put Iron Fist together in the first place, perhaps this slower build up isn't a surprise.

With fans digging into the just recently debuted Luke Cage series, Netflix is capitalizing on that to get fans looking forward to what's next - just as The Punisher is seemingly getting underway for filming as well. Which shows have you enjoyed the most so far out of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage?

Iron Fist will likely also lead directly into The Defenders, the small-screen and TV-MA rated version of The Avengers, in that it's a team-up between a bunch of heroes.
