A auto drove into a crowd of people near Boston's Logan International Airport on Monday afternoon, sending at least 10 people to the hospital, according to city officials. According to Boston Emergency Medical Services, as of 2:20 p.m., 10 people had been taken to hospitals after the incident.
Troopers are interviewing the 56-year-old cab driver, who police said is from Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Several pedestrians suffered injuries, ranging in severity from minor to serious, according to police. Massachusetts State Police are still investigating, but said the incident appeared to be operator error and not a terrorist attack.
The crash occurred near a taxi stand close to Logan Airport, officials told Boston 25 News. "The driver is now being interviewed", state police said.
The driver told authorities at the scene he accidentally hit the gas instead of the brake, according to both sources. State police spokesman David Procopio says 10 people were injured, some seriously.
Video footage on CNN showed what appeared to be a taxi, with its front hood buckled, resting next to a building.
