Carlos Checa started from pole position in race two as the sun shone at Miller Motorsports Park.
The other riders must have been worried as Checa had dominated race one and has done brilliantly from pole position elsewhere in this season.
It was a great start from Checa and also from Camier who was in second place by the fourth corner with the two Yamaha’s chasing.
With 19 laps to go we had a decrease in numbers as first Corser went out then Xaus and then Haga all in seperate incidents.
Carlos Checa was doing what everyone feared and running away with things at the front, followed by Camier who couldn’t catch him. Camier’s team mate Biaggi meanwhile had crept up to third ahead of Laverty and Melandri who were holding off the Ducati of Guintoli.
The field then spaced out with most riders a few bike lengths ahead of someone or all through the field.
There was a battle for fifth involving Melandri, Guintoli and Fabrizio until Fabrizio decided he’d had enough and just took them both and left them quite easily!
Rea and Sykes had a good battle towards the end of the race, just a shame it was for 10th place, but they were battling like it was a BSB race, swapping places virtually each corner.
But this was all about the worst fears of the rest of the field as Checa took off like a scalded cat and raced to the end putting in consistently fast laps.
