Sanders nets 31 delegates in Washington, still has hard road

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump speaks during a rally in Eugene, Ore., Friday, May 6, 2016.

In speaking of Boxer later, Hillary said she'd be "be calling her a lot" for her expertise if she were to be elected president.

However, Sanders picked up almost 50 delegates in Washington state.

The promoters of this campaign so reminiscent of the 1968 Democratic Convention in Chicago are backers of Bernie Sanders who totally reject the idea of seeing their candidate, Bernie Sanders - or themselves - just rolling over at the end of this year-long effort and endorsing Hillary Clinton.

On Wednesday, soon after Ted Cruz and John Kasich dropped out of the race for president leaving Trump as the sole candidate on the Republican side, Warren took to Twitter to chastise Trump in a flurry of nine tweets in which she accused him of being racist, sexist and xenophobic.

In an interview with NPR that aired Thursday, the Vermont senator said he's staying in the race "till the last vote is counted".

"I understand Secretary Clinton thinks this campaign is over".

But, in the kangaroo courts of right-wing talk radio, for Donald Trump, for the Republican party, I don't think this makes any difference whatsoever. "I have some bad news for her", Sanders said to cheering supporters after winning the IN primary last week. Clinton appeared to be gaining momentum after a series of routs in the northeast, including a blowout victory in NY.

"There is nobody that respects women more".

"She's been the total enabler".

Schaaf, like Boxer, shied away from attacking Sanders in her speech but did say the country needed "not just a leader that has great and attractive ideas but has the grit... and the know-how to get them done".

Yet Sen. Bernie Sanders is not conceding that New Jersey is Hillary Clinton territory, and there's a few reasons why. The lack of trust amongst liberal voters could very well lead to a Trump presidency if Clinton's ticket doesn't provide an encouraging balance worthy of the White House. "Do you remember the famous, 'I did not have sex with that woman?'" Trump asked.

"I think he's got a path to victory but it's a narrow path to victory", Wisniewski said. "His supporters have to behave and not cause trouble", Rendell said. "No one seems to listen any more", she said.

Still, local observers don't completely rule out the possibility that Trump - and his trademark unpredictability - could force Clinton to spend precious resources defending the state. Elizabeth Warren, the Massachusetts Democrat and favorite of the left whom some would like to see as Clinton's running mate.

Boxer, who was hosting a private fundraiser for Hillary with U.S. Sen.

Clinton, who was born in Chicago, owns a home in Chappaqua with her husband, former President Bill Clinton. "And we're going to fight for every remaining vote in the next nine states".

Warren had insulted Trump earlier on Twitter, calling him "a bully who has a single play in his playbook".
