Husqvarna TE 511

The new TE449, TE511 and TC449 are arriving in dealer showrooms from this weekend.

The TE449 and TE511 are destined for Enduro racers and trail riders whilst the TC449 is intended to bring Husqvarna back to the top step of the podium in motocross.

All three models feature Husqvarna’s latest chassis design featuring Coaxial Traction System (CTS) which thanks to the unique layout of the rear suspension, combined with the concentric positioning of the swing arm pivot and gearbox drive shaft, provides unrivalled traction and stability.

Motive power for the new 449/511s comes from a liquid cooled, 4 valve, twin cam engine and Husqvarna engineers have developed specific Enduro and MX configurations to ensure the bikes deliver exactly the right sort of power for the intended use.

The TC449 with its’ MX specification engine delivers 8% more power than the Enduro variant thanks to an increased compression ratio, different camshafts and a single flap throttle body, used to ensure the TC449 delivers the hard hitting, aggressive power that MX raiders demand. Standard fitment on the MX bike is a map switch that allows the rider to soften the hard edged power slightly for wet, slippery tracks. The TC449 is the only production MX bike to be fitted with a full titanium Akrapovic exhaust system as standard.

For Enduro use, the power needs to be delivered in a softer, more controllable fashion and therefore Husqvarna have detuned the engine slightly and fitted a twin flap throttle body for the Keihin fuel injection which enables the rider to apply the power smoothly, maintaining traction in all conditions.

Although high specification, competition Enduro bikes, the TE449 and TE511 are fully street legal, being homologated to Euro 3 specification as standard and are therefore suited to trail riding as well as Enduro racing. For closed circuit use the TE’s are also supplied as standard with an Akrapovic race silencer.

Other details common to both versions include a unique single side panel design which allows easy access for maintenance, a long seat to allow for all riding styles and a new twin chamber fuel tank design which centralises the mass for improved handling.
