With just one month to go before teams and riders have to be finalised for next season, perhaps the most surprising rumour is that Andrea Dovisioso will end his long association with Honda and ride a Yamaha in 2012.
The story comes from a source very close to the Italian and there are said to be two possibilities: one that he will be riding a Tech 3 Yamaha in place of either Cal Crutchlow or Colin Edwards and the other is that Ben Spies will step aside and move to Herve Poncheral’s satellite team so that Dovisioso can occupy the the other side of the Factory Yamaha wall.
While the second option would be more of a shock to MotoGP pundits, it is currently viewed as no less likely than the first.
