Victor M. Castaneda Jr.

Victor used to work at Fast By Ferracci, and assisted with their sister company Cagiva USA. One of his duties was to shake down and break in all bikes that were to be sent out to the press and for movie shoots.

He has had thousands of miles on various MV Agusta’s including the first two F4 750S’s in the country, the first F4 1000, F4 1000 AGO and Tamburini. Victor also had the honor of riding the first production Brutale, VIN #0000.

Along with the MV’s, he’s spent a lot of time on different Husqvarna enduro and supermotard bikes and also spent some time on a couple of Cagiva V-Raptors that were sent over for movie shoots.

As a sales person, Victor can count Michael Jordan, Jay Leno and Izzy Stradlin from Guns & Roses as customers along with other celebrities.

You can see more of Victor, and his motorcycles, at his website www.raginpitbull.com.

Q1: What is your favourite motorcycle of all time? Why?

That’s a tough one to answer! It’s hard to pick just one, but I’ll stick with something I’ve owned. My old 1993 Ducati 888 SPO. It had a full Termignoni Spaghetti exhaust system and mag 5-spoke Marchesini’s. It was beautiful, sounded awesome, shot flames out the mufflers off the throttle and handled superbly. It was the essence of why I fell in love with Ducati’s and Italian bikes. It was rare and rough around the edges. It wasn’t for everyone.

Q2: Who is your favourite motorcycle rider of all time? Why?

Hands down Eddie Lawson! He was so deathly fast and smooth! He looked slow out there until you saw Mick Doohan and Kevin Schwantz crashing trying to chase him down. He was not much of a personality, but was all business and I respect that. Wayne Rainey is a close second!

Q3: What motorcycle do you ride at the moment?

I’m currently riding a 2007 Triumph Bonneville. After a few years of riding fairly exotic bikes, I needed to get back to basics and have something that I can go on a relaxing ride. I moved here to Arizona in ’05 and needed something that I could explore on and not focus on turn in points and apexes.

Q4: What’s the best thing about riding motorcycles?

Motorcycling is such a unique and varied world. From touring, to track days and the people you meet along the way. The motorcycle is so personal and an excellent way to express yourself!

Q5: How would you describe your riding style, safe, fast, other?

I would say my riding style is safely quick. When I was doing track days regularly, I was an intermediate. From my track experience, I’ve definitely slowed down on the street. On the group rides I’ve lead, the pace has been described as moderate but entertaining. Hey, we all have to go to work on Monday and pay for our own crash repairs…
