Zero to Partner with Agni for First TTXGP

Thursday, March 18th, 2010

Zero Motorcycles and Agni Motors will be partnering to create a new motorcycle to enter the first American TTXGP race on May 16th.

Agni were winners of the TTXGP race on the Isle of Man last year when they simply inserted two of their motors into a GSXR frame. Many other motorcycles also use Agni motors including Michael Czysz.

Zero are experts at making motorcycle frames, usually using aircraft grade aluminium, meaning they’re super light. For example the Zero X frame weighs just 13 pounds.

In this sense the partnership seems to make perfect, potentially race winning, sense.

Hi gplate - it does make a lot sense, though we’re not sure Zero & Agni combined can be considered underdogs, in fact we’d consider them to be odds on to win. Although, as you say, if this improves the rest of the field, it’s all good.

A lot of sense as racing improves the breed, and Zeros tech with Agni’s motor could be a punch in the guts for the FIM and the IOM TT financially and politically considering both parties actions towards TTX GP. This could also garner more coverage to the field of electric motorcycle racing as every one likes to see the apparent David versus Goliath underdog type win.
