Samsung is reportedly planning to release three variants of the Galaxy S7; a regular-sized handset, an Edge variant, and an Edge+ device.
The list of specifications may include a 5.2 inch Quad HD display, Snapdragon 820 or Exynos 8890 chipset, depending on the country that the device is marketed, 4GB of RAM, 32 GB for base model and up to 64GB of storage space, with the option to extend the camera sensor up to 20 megapixels.
While gadget lovers are going frenzy over the latest rumors about the possible features of Galaxy S7, The Wall Street Journal also previously reported that the latest Samsung phone would be similar to S6. While the S7 and S7 edge may have different screen sizes, it's said that they'll both have 2560x1440 resolutions, Super AMOLED display tech, and an always-on display feature that'll show glanceable alerts. Both phones will also be water and dust resistant. Using a 5.7-inch panel does seem to make sense, though, as Samsung is likely already mass producing a ton of these for use in the Galaxy Note line. also seem to be lining up with what we're hearing. We know Samsung is looking to bring out a phablet alternative for the Samsung Galaxy S7 around the same time that the normal variant launches, but we'd heard it wouldn't stretch beyond 5.5 inches.
Speaking of batteries, the packs are set to address at least one criticism with 2015's power implementation.
The camera resolution here might raise some eyebrows since the original S6 edge had a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera. This new camera is said to feature an aperture of f/1.7, which is a change from the Galaxy S6′s f/1.9. Meaning an extremely fast shutter speed for great low-light photos, less blur from hand shaking, for crisp and great photos or video.
It looks like Samsung is determined to win back some of its fans that have chose to keep their older flagship smartphones instead of upgrading to Galaxy S6 due to the lack of features like microSD card slot and removable battery. This could also help free up space to add in a bigger battery.
