It was bound to happen. The Charging Bank doesn't require Apple's first party charging puck and instead uses ZENS' inductive charging technology with an included Micro USB plug to keep the Apple Watch topped off. It's called the "Travel Power Bank" and it's essentially a little keychain battery with an inductive charging pad for the Apple Watch.
I'll at least give Griffin credit for making the tiny charger a somewhat clever accessory - it's meant to be attached to your keychain so you can just pull it out and drop your Apple Watch on it when it needs some juice. Smart watches are fun, but in between apps, internet, games, messaging, mapping, and more, their batteries get zapped lickety split, so constantly charging them kind of defeats the goal of their mobility. It will sport the Apple Watch's charging dock on the power bank itself, so all you have to do is pop on the watch and it will begin charging itself.
Smartwatches like the Apple Watch have been rated to last about a day. This also helps in preventing from losing the power bank.
Following the unveiling of its BreakSafe USB-C accessory earlier today, Griffin has now taken the wraps off of a new Apple Watch accessory. ZENS did confirm that the iPhone 6/6s Battery Case will retail for €69.99 (~$100.00) and the Apple Watch Charging Bank will cost €49.99 (~$70.00). It will be available in toffee/gold, black/silver, ecru/rose gold, and seafoam/silver. In the third quarter of 2016, the Uptown Leather Band and Trainer Watch Band will be made available at $60 and $40, respectively.
The Trainer Watch Band is a silicone band crafted for workouts and sports.
