Pagano issued a statement saying it's never easy making changes.

"We are grateful for the contributions these coaches have made to the Colts during their time here", Chuck Pagano said in a team release. But Colts owner Jim Irsay, a wildcard of sorts, opted to retain both Pagano and general manager Ryan Grigson, whose relationship with the head coach has been described as toxic.

Promoted after the firing of Pep Hamilton, Chudzinski called the flawless game in an upset victory over the Denver Broncos before finishing the season with four different starting quarterbacks. Now, the Colts will have a new defensive coordinator next season. From there, he served four seasons as linebackers coach with the Chargers.

Roberts, like the others, was hired in 2012 as part of Chuck Pagano's initial coaching staff. Before that, he was the tight ends coach for the Jacksonville Jaguars (2003-2006), Cleveland Browns (2007-2008), and Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2009-2011).

Clearly we need to establish exactly what do we, as Colts fans, want out of the head coach.

Pagano thought they still could have been more productive.
