This week's episode of "WWE SmackDown Live" began with a big segment involving the participants in the Six Pack Challenge for the SmackDown Women's Championship: Becky Lynch, Nikki Bella, Naomi, Carmella, Alexa Bliss, and Natalya. The Miz defends his championship this Sunday at Backlash, where he will face Dolph Ziggler (who happens to be on commentary for this match, appropriately).

Shane McMahon announced that Chad Gable is off the Backlash show due to the "injury" he suffered at the hands of Jimmy Uso and Jey Uso on Smackdown.

Later, Heath Slater & Rhyno used teamwork to make the dream work and dispatched of the Hype Brothers to cement their spot in the final. The twins now have the momentum with their first-ever heel run and it is very possible that they walk out of WWE Backlash 2016 champions.

Aside from the Women's Championship Forum, the other non-#Wrestling segments on last night's SmackDown were all noteworthy; even Kane's attack on Fandango (who gave a dance lesson to, then insulted a tattooed woman in the audience) had some entertainment value in it. Rhyno and Slater were a late addition to the tournament, with McMahon promising "The One Man Band" a Smackdown contract if he and a partner of his choosing could win the titles.

After weeks of exchanging promos, Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt finally meet at WWE Backlash 2016. "Particularly, the tag team division got some much needed intensity and drama; up until now, one side of the bracket was "*pencil in American Alpha*" while the other was "how will Heath Slater make us laugh tonight?"
