The honour of landing on the exclusive helipad on top of the luxurious Burj al Arab hotel in Dubai is strictly reserved for state dignitaries and members of the royal family – and that’s just why the king of freestyle motocross, Dany Torres, was given a very warm welcome as he touched down on the roof of the iconic building!
After the tradition of washing with rose water and sampling delicious dates, the Spaniard clambered aboard his KTM 250 for a spectacular training run on the same platform 828 metres above the sea where Roger Federer and Andre Agassi once played their famous vertigo-inducing game of tennis.
“That was my first ever time in a helicopter – and I have never seen such as spectacular hotel. Up here is probably about the most exclusive FMX course on the planet,” smiled Torres.
