Motorcycle Live has a difficult life, particularly at the moment when people are generally struggling for money, but it also follows EICMA in Milan which is were most companies decide to reveal their exclusives.
What’s left for Motorcycle Live they do well, I still, and probably always will, bemoan the lack of a press day, even half-a-day (and from talking to others I know I’m not alone on this).
However that aside, and the fact the event seems to have shrunk slightly, it was busy on the Monday we attended which is a good sign, a bad sign is people asking things like “why are the manufacturers here with only two people on the stand” or “where’s the passion” both of which we heard in various guises throughout the day.
The latter should probably be taken with a pinch of salt, I think they are trying to compare the stands at Birmingham with the stands at Milan for instance and manufacturers just aren’t going to throw that kind of cash around twice.
