Red Bull X-Fighters Visit The Bavarian Alps

It is the most photographed monument in Germany and the picturesque Neuschwanstein Castle in the Bavarian Alps was used on Tuesday as the backdrop for the traditional opening jump ahead of the next stop of the Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour. Eigo Sato and Mat Rebeaud showed off their freestyle motocross skills with a series of breathtaking jumps under bright blue skies.

“It looks just like a postcard,” laughed Rebeaud, a Swiss native who was in his element jumping in the German Alps when he took a look at the pictures of his jumps in front of the famous Castle. Eigo Sato was hardly the only Japanese native at King Ludwig II’s fairy-tale Neuschwanstein Castle, one of Germany’s most popular tourist attractions and one that is especially beloved by Japanese visitors.

The actual event will take place on Saturday in Munich’s Olympic stadium, where for the first time spectators will be able to follow the action from inside the track as well as from the tribune. The World Tour championship battle is heating up with Levi Sherwood of New Zealand leading the pack that includes defending champion Dany Torres of Spain.
