Wayne Leachs winning Speed Triple from Triumph Live 2010

Triumph Motorcycles has launched its Triumph Live customised bike competition, which celebrates the best examples of enhanced models from across its range. The contest, which is organised directly by the Hinckley based manufacturer, is looking to find the best examples of custom Triumphs from across the UK and Europe, to win the coveted title of ‘best in show’ at Triumph Live, the world’s biggest motorcycle festival devoted to Britain’s best-loved bike brand. Triumph Live is a biennial event attracting 10,000 visitors and takes place at Mallory Park, Leicestershire (August 31 - September 2, 2012).

Twenty bikes selected from the initial entries - based on looks, style and technical excellence - will be invited to Triumph Live, where a panel of expert judges will vote for the best machine in each of four categories – best sports/roadster custom; best Hinckley classic custom; best custom cruiser and best pre-Hinckley custom. The judging panel will include Mark Wilsmore of the Ace Café and representatives from Triumph’s design department.

The winner from each category will receive a trophy and a parts, clothing and accessories voucher worth £250, while the overall winner will receive a trophy and a voucher for £500, as well as the title of ‘best in show’.

The 2010 competition saw the judges pick Wayne Leach’s stunning Speed Triple as the overall winner, which featured a host of modifications including Marchesini wheels, billet yokes, MT03 headlight, bespoke Rad & Oil cooler, ISR clutch & brake lever assemblies, chromed brake calipers, K Tech forks, Nitron shock, bespoke rear subframe and underseat exhaust, carbon bodywork and Samco hoses.

Guy Masters, UK general manager, Triumph Motorcycles, said: “The custom bike competition at Triumph Live in 2010 contained some amazing examples of bespoke machines. The attention to detail and general design ideas were impressive and I look forward to seeing the creativity of this year’s entries.”

Anyone wishing to enter the competition should email pictures and a brief description of what they have customised to competition@triumph.co.uk. Entries should be submitted by 31st July 2012. Bikes chosen for display must be available all day on Saturday 1st September. All entrants chosen to appear at Triumph Live will receive two free weekend passes, including camping. Entrants should also include your name, address and phone number on the email entry.
