A grey sky covered the circuit of Jerez de the Frontera since the first light of the day didn’t make the conditions optimal to begin to practice since the first minutes. Some light rain during the morning make the condition of the track bad, but never completely wet. Only in the afternoon did the riders began testing wet tyres and set up. During the last hour some riders used the slick tyre with the track not perfectly dry.
The weather conditions have conditioned a lot the development on the TR003 by the Came Iodaracing team. Danilo Petrucci was at the pit box for all the morning, then he went out when the rain became strong to gain confidence with the wet Bridgestone tyres.
During the last thirty minutes of tests the young rider, with the track almost entirely dry, entered with the slick tyre and got his best time with a 1.45.336 that placed him at tenth position at 4.581 from Hayden.
“It was a strange day – Petrucci said – the conditions of the track this morning didn’t allow to practice because it was not neither dry neither really wet. In the afternoon the rain became strong and we has decided to begin to test, considering that I didn’t know how works the Bridgestones rain tyres. Unfortunately a small electric problem has stopped me while I was finding the rigth feeling with these tyres. In the last minutes of the practice with the dry track we have tried to use a slick and we got a good lap time. Loosing a day like that is a big problem for us because the TR003 is in a stage of development, so tomorrow we have to improve our planning”.
