Honda Motor Europe’s racing department has announced that it has signed an extension to its long-standing relationship in the World Superbike championship with exhaust supplier Arrow Special Parts.
The manufacturer, based in San Giustino in central Italy, was founded in 1985 and has since earned an enviable track record of more than 20 world championship trophies in road racing, motocross and supermoto.
Arrow’s relationship with Honda’s World Superbike and World Supersport activities began eight years ago and the company has supplied exhaust systems for the team’s CBR1000RR Fireblade and CBR600RR models, winning no fewer than seven world titles with the Dutch Ten Kate squad over the years.
On signing the agreement at the last SBK round in Imola, Giorgio Giannelli, president of Arrow Special Parts, said: “The Arrow story with Ten Kate Honda started back in 2004 and, since that year, we have developed a great relationship, both professional and personal. We’ve enjoyed a lot of victories together and won world championships in both World Supersport and World Superbike.”
He continued: “We are hoping for a good result this year with Jonathan and Hiroshi and we are working very hard to develop new exhaust systems to meet all the team’s needs. I’m looking forward to working with this Honda team for many years to come.”
Carlo Fiorani, superbike racing manager at Honda Motor Europe, added his own comment, saying: “We are very happy to sign this extension to our agreement with Arrow, since the relationship with Honda teams goes back many years. Arrow’s continued technical support will help our riders to achieve the very best performance possible and we look forward to the rest of the 2012 season with interest and enthusiasm.”
