Gas prices going up in northern New England

Gasbuddy says Vermont's gas is averaging $2.25 a gallon, NY is averaging $2.23, and $2.13 in New Hampshire.

The price of gas in S.C.is now 12.1 cents higher per gallon than the same time one year ago.

Average retail gas prices in Dayton have increased 16.5 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.24 per gallon on Sunday, according to GasBuddy's daily survey of 391 gas outlets in Dayton. Areas in Northern CA and their current gas price climate: Stockton- $2.64/g, down 2.6 cents per gallon from last week's $2.67/g.

$2.87/g in 2015, $4.18/g in 2014, $4.23/g in 2013, $4.40/g in 2012 and $4.24/g in 2011.

Gas prices edged slightly lower during the past week in SC as supplies rebounded from a repaired gas pipeline in Alabama and oil-exporting countries tentatively agreed to cut production for the first time in eight years.

Huntsville- $2.12/g, down 1 cent per gallon from last week's $2.13/g.

Houston-area gasoline prices jumped 2 cents in the past week after OPEC tentatively agreed to reduce oil production, but Texas nevertheless has the cheapest fuel in the nation. Gas prices are also down in Kalamazoo and Lansing.

Patrick DeHaan, senior petroleum analyst for GasBuddy, said the rise in gas prices is a reaction to the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries' decision to cut back on oil production.
