GBmoto Racing Take On Silverstone 200

Luke Quigley - Oulton Park 2012

GBmoto Racing will compete at this weekend’s Silverstone MotoGP event in a recently launched support class, known as the Silverstone 200. There will be two races over the course of the weekend, each of 100 kilometres in length. This will effectively mean each race is over sixteen laps, and is open to all machines between 600cc and 1200cc.

GBmoto Racing, while always targetting a competitive race result, will also use the available track time as an essential testing session, ahead of the British Superbike round to be held at this circuit later in the season.

Luke Quigley
“I’m really looking forward to this weeked. We’re treating this as more testing, so I hope to find some good settings for when we’re back at Silverstone later in there year. It’s going to be a bit of a strange mixed race, with lots of different capacity machines, but I’m certain a lot of fun. A good few of my mates will be riding in the Snetterton 200 and it’ll be great to mix it up with them.”

Tristan Palmer
“The weekend looks wet, but I think this will still be a good test for the team. We have some new settings to try, and maybe there will be a few dry sessions. I’m looking forward to trying the bike around Silverstone, as there will be no real pressure. I will be able to concentrate on getting a good setup, without the need to worry about scoring points.

Mark Smith-Halvorsen, Team Principal
“We are very much looking forward to racing at Silverstone this weekend. Not only is it a great circuit to ride and compete on, but also because one area we wish to test further on our bikes is extracting power effectively. Silverstone is ideal for this. Over the weekend we will be focussing on, in wet or dry conditions, the fuel mapping and electronics in order for us to access more grip and power.”
