After two sunny and hot days, the sky over Montmelò Circuit is grey for the last day of Grand Prix of Catalunya. Fortunately it doesn’t rain for the three races, except during MotoGP warm up.
It was a difficult race for Danilo Petrucci who finished in 19th place. The Came Iodaracing Team rider didn’t get a good start and tried to push but he didn’t have a good pace. From the second half of the race he began to keep Silva at bay, but he overtook him during the last lap finishig the race in 19th position.
Simone Corsi had a good race finishing in 5th place. He lost some positions at the beginning of the race and he started to fight with Rabat, Redding, Elias, Zarco and De Angelis with Rabat went away tring to keep with the first group.
Luigi Morciano in Moto3 finished the race in 26th place. The Ioda Team Italia rider had fought for all the race with Fuji, Pedone and his teamate Folger, who retired during the fouth lap because his shiftgear screw was broken.
“It was a very hard race – Petrucci declared – we hadn’t solved the traction problems of theese days and when I tried to force the front of my bike close. The next race will be in Silverstone, I know and I like that track very much and I think that we should not have the same problem of this race”.
“I’m happy because after two crash in the last races now I get some points for the ranking – Corsi said – but we still had the same grip problems of the practice and I risked too much during the race. We have still to work hard to be competitive like the top riders”.
“The things are going better – Morciano declared – but I suffered a lot the effect of the slipstream on the straight. We are growing up a lot and I’m optimist for the next races”.
“I’m very disappointed – Folger said – I didn’t a good start but I began a good pace, then during the fourth lap my gearbox footstep broke and I had to retire. I’ll do my best in Silverstone where last year I won the race”.
