She also disclosed to Salvant that she and Fred Couch are still married.

According to Anderson, Couch found it hard to sleep because there was "too much light" in the cell.

The 48-year-old was wearing a yellow jumpsuit from the Tarrant County Jail as she stood in front of a judge who read the charge against her.

Couch is held on a $1 million bond. Salvant did not rule on the bail reduction.

A bail hearing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Monday.

"The judge said that if Ms. Couch was released on bond, he would set some conditions, such as requiring her to wear an ankle monitor".

Couch was arraigned Friday morning in Fort Worth.

Patten was not present at the arraignment. "She said the deputies had treated her better than she'd expect to be treated". Couch's lawyer, Stephanie Patten, missed the hearing this morning as she was stuck in traffic, but when she arrived, she said she was concerned that Couch spoke to the sheriff without legal representation. It is believed that she and her son, who was being sought for violating the terms of his probation, escaped from Texas.

They disappeared shortly after a video surfaced showing what appears to be Ethan Couch at a party where people were drinking.

Tarrant County Sheriff Dee Anderson said Tonya Couch was "quiet, reserved, respectful" on the ride from DFW to the jail in downtown Fort Worth.

Tonya Couch made an initial appearance in a Texas courtroom Friday on a charge of hindering the apprehension of a felon.

In our collective 40 plus years of practicing criminal law here in Tarrant County, both as prosecutors or defense attorneys, we have never witnessed an elected official take such a personal interest and escort a suspect.

Ethan Couch pleaded guilty in juvenile court in 2013 to four counts of intoxication manslaughter and two counts of intoxication assault causing serious bodily injury after a drunk driving wreck killed four and injured others. His defense attorneys claimed that the teen, then 16-years-old, was the victim of "affluenza", an inability to distinguish right from wrong based on his affluent upbringing.
