Ted Cruz '92 says he will vote for Trump

Texas Senator Ted Cruz took the stage Saturday at The Texas Tribune Festival and addressed his announcement Friday that he would endorse presidential candidate Donald Trump.

His decision is founded on six policy differences that Cruz wrote informed his decision, including Supreme Court nominees, the Affordable Care Act, energy, immigration, national security, and internet freedom.

One day after his endorsement of Republican nominee Donald Trump, Texas Sen.

"What I said is this is a binary choice", Cruz responded.

"This is all the information you had in Cleveland", Beck said, unsatisfied by Cruz's answers.

Cruz, who told delegates at the convention to "vote your conscience" in November, also reiterated that his conscience has led him to do everything he can to stop Clinton.

Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, the Texas chair for the Trump campaign, applauded Cruz for endorsing Trump in a statement posted on Twitter. "We have fought the battle and he was a tough and brilliant opponent".

"I have had many, many disagreements with Donald Trump, some of which you have cataloged", Cruz said. Cruz also mentioned that for anyone invested in upholding the right to 'religious liberty, ' they should vote for Trump.

Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus hastened Cruz's surprise endorsement warning in early September.

"I should have said, 'You know who can win?"

During a May press conference, Cruz's attacks against Trump hit a new level when he called Trump a "pathological liar," "utterly amoral", "a narcissist at a level I don't this country's ever seen" and "a serial philanderer".

Glenn Beck on Monday said he was wrong to think Ted Cruz was a man comparable to George Washington. He faces a possible Senate primary challenge from Texas Representative Michael McCaul, the chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee.

Mr Cruz cited the possibility of Democrats taking control of the US Supreme Court as a major reason why he made a decision to drop his opposition to Mr Trump.

During the primaries, Trump retweeted an unflattering photo of Cruz's wife, Heidi Cruz, and gave voice to a false rumor that his father, Rafael Cruz, was involved in the assassination of former President John F. Kennedy. Cruz, ever the politician, didn't really endorse Trump as much as saving his own bacon.
